MS EDSS 6.0

is where I am at present
 
with rollator and power chair
 
their cherry red, resplendent
 
I may remain for years like this
 
but there’s no way to know
 
I wobble at a precipice
 
a slippery slope below
 
(and know from watching lives of friends
 
how far down it can slide)
 
so, lessons learned from brutal truth
 
have taught me to abide
 
within this moment’s boundaries
 
without a cure in sight
 
Insurance Co.’s and Big Pharma
 
too rich to do what’s Right
 
I’m just an aphid to their ants
 
though tended not as well
 
they’ve no plans to give me a chance
 
so, only time will tell.

A little help?

The time has arrived.  I'm getting a power wheelchair.  I think that this entails a certain dread for all people with MS.  In fact, though, it's going to be really helpful in my daily life!!  There's just one wrinkle in the plan - transporting it.  I'm going to need a van with a lift or ramp (or both?) and the money to purchase it.
